It’s been a crazy few months in politics and that statement doesn’t even begin to cover it. I’ve attended a number of marches and rallies, but I was especially psyched to see such a large crowd gather in my hometown to support SCIENCE.
After an hour or so listening to speakers at the capitol building (and admiring the awesome signs), we took off on a mile-long march to Huston-Tillotson University in east Austin. Along the way, city officials offered us safe passage along the route by shutting off portions of the road to traffic and directing crossing areas. We ran into a few friends, but I was more excited to see the sheer number of people all representing their departments, companies, schools, and favorite scientists.
I’m so thankful to be living in a city with the drive and passion to mobilize for science.
